H G Leach (Fiji) Ltd is a company registered in Fiji. The company has been awarded the contract tooperate the Naboro Landfill for the Department for Environment.
The contract comprises the commissioning of the new landfill and overall management and operation of the landfill and gate office for a period of 5 years. The Naboro Landfill is located on the Queens Road approximately 24km from central Suva.
Stage 1B of the landfill development commences September 2009 which will extend the landfill operating area to the North East and South West of the current operational area. The phased development will form a waste disposal site with a minimum airspace volume of 250,000m³
The Company is an active participant in the waste management industry in Fiji, undertaking work in the areas of solid waste handling, transportation and disposal; as well as landfill design, construction and operations including civil engineering contracting works. The company has extensive expertise in waste management and is able to offer consulting services in this regard.
The company owns and operates a fleet of modern equipment and has skilled staff and resources to undertake its operations.
All shares in H G Leach (Fiji) Limited are owned by H.G. Leach & Company Ltd, a company registered in New Zealand in September 1952. H.G. Leach & Company Ltd is a private company which has been trading in New Zealand for 57 years. The company owns and operates four quarries in the Thames Valley/Waikato region and in the late 1990s diversified into the area of solid waste handling, transportation and disposal. H.G. Leach & Company Ltd consented (licensed), designed, constructed and owns the Tirohia Landfill close to Paeroa, in the Thames Valley some 125km southeast of Auckland. Tirohia Landfill is recognised as one of the “highest standard of operation” landfills in New Zealand and is certified to ISO 14001.
Aside from H.G. Leach & Company Ltd’s waste and quarrying business, the company also undertakes various forms of contracting in the areas of landfill construction, landfill closures, landfill remediation, earthworks, roading, aggregate supply, transportation, and project management.
